Anti-Reflection Coatings

Tailored from the ultraviolet (UV) through the visible (VIS) and into the near-infrared (NIR).

Anti-reflection (AR) coatings are essential in optical systems to minimize surface reflections and maximize light transmission. By reducing glare and unwanted reflections, AR coatings enhance image clarity, improve contrast, and increase the overall efficiency of lenses, sensors, and optical devices. Designed for a wide range of applications, these coatings help deliver sharper, brighter, and more accurate optical performance.

From the ultraviolet (UV) through the visible (VIS) and into the near-infrared (NIR), our Iralin™, Duolin™, and Supertriolin™ coatings provide optimized solutions for different wavelength needs and performance requirements.

Iralin™

Coatings are multilayer designs focused on maximum efficiency in the visible spectrum, with options that extend into the UV or near-infrared ranges. These coatings are ideal for applications demanding high transmission and low reflectance in the 350 to 650 nm range.

Duolin™

Designed for the visible spectrum with an additional laser line, making it suitable for conventional low-power laser applications and other demanding optical systems.

Supertriolin™

Covers a broad spectral range from 450 nm up to 1100 nm, offering excellent performance with slightly higher reflectivity at the edges but at a more cost-effective price point. This makes it a great choice for applications requiring wideband coverage without compromising quality.

NIR-TRANSMAX™

Delivers ultra-low reflection (<0.1%) and high transmission from 1250 to 1650 nm, covering S-, C-, and L-bands. It is non-polarizing, absorption-free, and highly resistant to environmental stress, perfect for telecom and precision instruments.

In addition, Materion has developed highly efficient, environmentally stable multilayer AR coatings specifically for UV-curable polymer lenses used in wafer-level optics manufacturing. They are optimized for visible and near-infrared ranges, with partial UV transparency to enable curing low-defect antireflective coatings protect silicon sensor lids, minimizing reflection across broad wavelengths.
